Set-Up and Care Instructions

1. Unboxing and Placement

Move the compressed mattress to your bedroom before unboxing. Place the rolled mattress onto your bed frame or foundation. The DM Black Diamond is a heavy, high-profile 15-inch hybrid; we recommend two people for lifting and positioning.

2. Decompression Process

Carefully remove the outer plastic wrap using a safety cutter or scissors, taking care not to puncture the fabric. Once the vacuum seal is broken, the mattress will begin to expand immediately.

  • Expansion Time: While the mattress may look ready within minutes, allow 24 to 48 hours for the hybrid layers and pocketed coils to reach their full 15-inch loft and structural integrity.

3. Off-Gassing (New Mattress Scent)

Because your mattress is freshly manufactured and sealed for shipping, you may notice a "new mattress" scent. This is normal and non-toxic. Simply keep the room well-ventilated for the first 24 hours to allow any odors to dissipate.

4. Proper Support Requirements

To maintain your warranty and prevent sagging, ensure your mattress is placed on a supportive surface:

  • A sturdy platform bed.

  • A high-quality foundation or box spring.

  • A slatted frame with slats no more than 3 inches apart.
